I am very sad to hear this news. Chester and I had known each other since the 60s or at latest the 70s. My Father Leon Shisler worked very closely with his Father. I worked with both Chester and a little bit with his Dad, though I was a welder laborer and Chet was General Roadmaster. May God grant his comfort to all who knew and loved him. My condolences to the family.

Patty, you most likely would not remember me but Chester and I worked together on Selcherts steel crew in the early 1980’s. I thought the world of Chester and we worked from time to time over the years in railroad time in other places. Same property that was originally Milwaukee railroad. We both have always felt that the Milwaukee Road was our railroad. Last of the young people to have a dedication to a piece of great railway history..I don’t know why but I was wondering how he was doing and googled only to find he had passed on. My family and I send the deepest sympathies. I know God has a way of telling us sometimes in his way please know that there are no words I can say at this time. Chester left a huge-huge impression on so many of our heart’s. I pray you feel comfort soon. John France.
