Cheryl Erickson 03/09/2025

Cheryl Margaret Erickson (nee Casey), age 69, of New Richmond, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband, daughter, and family on Sunday, March 9, 2025, after a 4 ½ year battle with cancer.  Cheryl was born the daughter of Hoyt and Marie (Beauvais) Casey on September 30, 1955, in New Richmond, WI.

She graduated from New Richmond High School and went on to work various jobs throughout her life. Cheryl was known as a very dependable hard worker and always made friends at her workplace.  In 2020, she retired from Deerfield Gables, where she enjoyed working with and caring for the residents, each one very special to her.

Cheryl loved watching birds and had many bird feeders in her yard. The past few years, it was hard for her to see the birds from the living room, so her husband Terry and granddaughter Jaylee made a bird feeder for right in front of her bedroom window.  This brought great joy to Cheryl watching the birds again. She loved all animals, and she donated to several charities to help homeless animals.

Cheryl enjoyed a nightly drive with Terry around the area and they would listen to music and reminisce. She also enjoyed many trips the couple took to Florida, Texas and South Carolina.  Cheryl loved her annual trips with her sisters and niece, and she came home with many stories to tell.

She loved to shop and give her family gifts. Cheryl was the best host for holiday get togethers and always made everyone feel loved and special whether they were family or friends. She cheered on the Green Bay Packers each week, never missing a game.

Cheryl was so special to many people and will be remembered for kindness and generosity. She will be greatly missed by her family but will live on forever in their hearts.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Erickson; daughters, Monica (Chris) Parent, Jamie Casey; grandchildren, Riley Potter, Ashtin (Brandon Whitcomb) Schmit, River (Ryan) Baxter, Zarious Casey, Nevaeh Casey, Jaylee Nelson; great-grandchildren, Cecilia Potter, Waylon Almanza, Oliver Almanza, Finley Baxter, Ottilie Baxter; brothers and sisters, Janet (Ed) Cooper, David (Suzie) Casey, Hoyt (Robin) Casey, Richard Casey, Cathy (Steve) Lundeen, Bill (Kerri) Casey, George (Kris) Casey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lenny Erickson, Janice (Jerry) Getschel, Shari (Russ) Miller, Larry (Joanne) Erickson, Shelly (Dick) Andrea, Debbie (Mike Vadner) Erickson, Kathy (Bruce Kluge) Fuller; many nieces and nephews.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Marie Casey; brothers, Michael, Charles and Jim Casey; sister-in-law, Nancy Erickson; brother-in-law, Dave Fuller; granddaughter, Vineicia Nelson; and beloved dog and friend, Sammie.

A funeral service was held Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond.  Visitation was also on Saturday from 12:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home.  A private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
