Charles (Chuck) E. Langeness passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, at the age of 76, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s for more than 14 years. He was surrounded by loved ones at The Deerfield in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Born on October 18, 1947, in Boone, Iowa, Chuck was the son of Chuck and Mary (Stene) Langeness. He grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa, and began his college journey at River Falls. He transferred to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth where he met his lifelong love, Sandi, to whom he was married for 54 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business and later completed his MBA at Drake University. Chuck was passionate about his career and moved around the country to advance professionally. He settled in Luck, WI, to support his father, who also battled Alzheimer’s for many years. Chuck had an exceptional career at Hilti. He won many awards which allowed him and Sandi to travel to wonderful destinations.
Chuck and Sandi were blessed with six incredible sons and later six daughters-in-law: Chad (Renee), Chance (Jessica), Cash (Jenny), Cosby (Jenny), Cody (Adele), and Colin (Ali). Together, they gave Chuck and Sandi 22 amazing grandchildren, whom Chuck proudly regarded as his greatest achievement. He loved being Papa. Their grandchildren include Kolbe, Kade, Rylan, Raegan, Caden, Makayla, Cole, Connor, Calvin, Catcher, Canton, Ceagan, Clayton, Caleb, Grace, Addison, Camryn, Case, Cobie, Croix, Eleanor, and Christian.
Chuck was a truly generous person. In his younger years he donated much of his time coaching his boys in their numerous activities, and later frequently organizing efforts to raise money for his church, community, and sports clubs. He achieved a significant goal when he and his friend Mr. B walked and biked to Alaska which kicked off his non-profit, “The Grace Fund.” Chuck enjoyed organizing social gatherings and creating a reason for family and friends to get together. He loved going to Canada fishing with family and friends, attending the kids and grandkids sporting events, concerts, dance recitals, and plays. He was an avid fan of college and professional sports, most importantly football, which always involved a little wager. He loved making trips with his kids to Vegas, and wintering in Florida or Arizona. Chuck embraced life to the fullest, simply stated “Life is Good.”
In addition to his wife and children, Chuck is survived by his sister Joy (Chuck) Coppola, brother Jim (Carol) Langeness, and sister-in-law Cheryl, brothers-in-law Rick (Diana) Rex, and Larry (Shirley) Rex and many nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Scot.
A memorial service was held at Luck Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 26th, at 2:00 PM, with a visitation preceding at 12:30PM. Please join the family after the service for CE’s favorite desserts and to share memories of Chuck. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local Alzheimer’s chapter, Lakeview Hospice, or Luck Lutheran Church. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Lakeview Hospice and the caring staff at The Deerfield. Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I wish I would have known him in his earlier years. He was full of knowledge and experience. Such a strong, gentle giant in the time I was able to know him at The Deerfield. Blessings to all of his wonderful family! It was a pleasure to have known him.
We called him “Chuckles” back in the early 70’s at TCU. He was one of the Yankees that were recruited and all the Yankee’s hung together in this strange place called Texas. I thought he was so cute and sweet (?) so tricked my friend Sandi (Miss Campbell Soup) and Chuckles into a blind date…..neither would consider a blind date….and the rest is a fabulous storybook tale. Their wonderful family, which may not have happened with out my devious trick. He will be missed, but that huge wonderful family will help each other through the sadness.
Yes all us Yankees hung out together in Strange Texas.I was even engaged to a beautiful woman named Zippy
yes us us yankees hung out together
Such a smile & twinkle in his eye. His kind soul will be missed. Our memories of him will last & bring a smile to our hearts
Jesus said he was going to prepare a place for us. I have no doubt that you have gone where he went to prepare a place for you. Fare thee well, dear friend and brother-in-law.

I will miss our many Happy Hours together but I’m sure we’ll manage long-distance for the time being! As the saying goes, gone but certainly not forgotten.
