Carol Marie Miller (nee Anderson) age 94 of New Richmond died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the St. Croix Health Center. She was born the daughter of Martin and Mabel (Johnson) Anderson on April 8, 1920 in the Town of Seymour, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. She attended the Bowman School through 8th grade and graduated from Eau Claire High School and the Eau Claire Teacher’s College (now UW-Eau Claire). She served her Country in WACS during WWII. Carol taught country school from 1946-1950. In 1950, she moved to New Richmond and went to work for the New Richmond School District. She taught 1st and 3rd grade, retiring in 1984. In 1957, she married Louis John Miller at Ascension Lutheran Church near Eau Claire, WI. She loved card club and playing Bridge. Carol enjoyed her flower gardens and was a member of a garden club. In later years she collected buttons and was a member of a button club. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling and traveled all over the world. She was a very active member of First Lutheran Church. Carol was a gracious and kind woman who was interested in the things happening in the lives of those she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis; brother, Robert Anderson; sister, Betty (Carl) Foss; sister-in-law, Marjorie Anderson. She is survived by brothers, John Anderson of rural Chippewa Falls; Richard (Marian) Anderson of rural Chippewa Falls; sister, Karen (James) Alf of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Ellen Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A funeral service was held Friday, January 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Lutheran Church (218 County Road K) in New Richmond. Visitation was also Friday from 1-2 pm at the church. Interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
