Carol Martin 03/05/2011

Carol J. Martin, age 72 of River Falls, died after a brief illness on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Carol was born the daughter of John and Marjorie (Peterson) Berg on February 25, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Carol’s career at the First National Bank of River Falls spanned 20 years.  She was an avid gardener and friend to all animals.  She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marjorie Berg; infant brother Donald Berg, father-in-law, Charles Martin and sister-in-law Beverly Leach.  Carol is survived by her husband, Kenneth Martin; children, Michele (Stephen) Bloes of Waunakee, WI, Colleen Martin of Austin, TX, and Robert Martin of Eagan, MN; siblings, Richard Berg, John Berg, and James Berg; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  A Funeral Service was held on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 1 pm at the United Methodist Church in River Falls.  Visitation was held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 5-8 pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home in River Falls and on Friday from 12-1 pm at the church.  Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.  Memorials may be directed to your local Humane Society.  Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
