Buck Jensen of River Falls died peacefully on February 16, 2016 after a courageous 23 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Throughout his journey, he maintained a positive attitude and outlook on life. These qualities are life lessons that he never knew he was teaching, and will forever be admired.
Born in St. Paul Minnesota, on September 19, 1961 to Howard and Helen Jensen. Buck grew up and lived in Lauderdale, MN until 1997, when he then moved to River Falls, WI. A dedicated man in everything he did, he spent his early years working at Hermes Floral and later transitioned into landscaping, where he took great pride working as well as instilling his great knowledge and work ethic at Prescription Landscaping in the metro area.
Bucks greatest passion was his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, sibling and loyal friend to many. Some of his fondest moments were when he was able share his mastery skills, principles, teachings and watching others grow. He was an amazing mentor on so many levels. All that knew him will never forget his amazing sense of humor, which was contagious. He told it like it was, and everyone loved that about him. At any given moment, if someone needed a helping hand, Buck was the guy. He moved to River Falls with the love of his life, Deb. They spend 19 amazing years together working hand in hand tackling projects, making memories and enjoying life together. They loved the outdoors and spent endless hours perfecting their yard with their appreciation of gardening and landscaping. Buck was an amazing grandfather to his 7 grandchildren and loved nothing more than making them laugh and teaching them all he could.
He was preceded in death by his father Howard Jensen and “ol Cyndar dog”. He is survived by his mother Helen Jensen, wife and best friend Deb Anderson, children Tammy (Al) Barstad, Brooke Halverson (Derek Mechler), siblings Tony (Robyn) Jensen, Martin (Sharon) Jensen, Ruth (Joe) Peterson, Lynda Jensen and is beloved grandchildren Lyndsey, Hunter, Logan, Ellie, Delaney, Maddilyn and Cameron; nieces and nephews and many faithful friends.
Buck’s most treasured past time was being outside, working in his garden and making his yard come to life. To honor this as well as our love for him, we will be holding A Celebration of Buck’s Life on June 18th, 2016 at their home to share memories and laughter. Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
