Bruce Bayer 04/17/2014

Bruce Bayer, age 87 of River Falls and formerly of New Richmond, died on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Comforts of Home in River Falls. Bruce was born the son of Bill and Minnie Bayer on January 12, 1927 in Tuttle, ND.  He grew up there, and graduated from Tuttle High School.  He joined the Merchant Marines, where he served two tours, then joined the Air Force for a tour.  Bruce worked as design engineer for various computer and electronics companies.  He was married to Frieda Heits in November of 1954 in Ohio.  Bruce enjoyed fishing, playing cards and taking walks.  He was a humanitarian who treated everyone fairly.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Frieda Bayer; and brothers, Lyle, Clifford, Glen, and Dale Bayer.  Bruce is survived by children, Patty Bayer and Michael Bayer; grandson, Carmichael Wirtz; sister, Lois Sedevie; and many other relatives and friends.  A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2 pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI.  Memorial visitation was also Tuesday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home.  Interment was in Lewis Cemetery in Frederic, WI at a later date.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
