Brian Wilson 12/31/2018

Brian Scott Wilson, age 55 of River Falls, WI, died on Monday, December 31, 2018 after a year and a half long battle with cancer. He died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Brian was born the son of Ronald and Margaret Wilson on June 15, 1963 in Kalamazoo, MI. The family moved to the River Falls, WI area in 1976. Brian graduated from River Falls High School with the class of 1982. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with majors in Mathematics and Physics. He received his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming. Brian worked for St. Croix Gear in Hudson, WI. He was a member of the River Falls Sportsman’s Club where he was often among the top ten trap shooters and recently “Top Gun”. Hunting, fishing and shooting sports were among his favorite activities. Brian also liked to cook, read, garden and ride motorcycles. He was always willing to offer an honest opinion. He was very kind, and easy to talk to. Brian was a good friend who put others concerns before his own. He is survived by his life partner and soulmate, Geri Struve, her children Trista (Phil) Custer, Benjamin (Amanda Leach) Struve; parents, Ron and Margaret Wilson; siblings, Tyler (Laurie) Wilson and family, Brooke (Dave) Secord and family and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Brian’s life was held Thursday, January 3, 2019 with visitation from 1-3 pm and a short service at 3 pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI. The celebration continued at the party room at Johnnies Bar 116 N Main Street River Falls, WI following the service. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
