Betty Loff 08/01/2013

Betty Loff age 92 of River Falls, WI died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at The Lutheran Home in River Falls.  She was born the daughter of Charles and Della (Amundsen) Lee on January 31, 1921 in International Falls, MN.  Betty attended schools in International Falls and graduated from High School in 1938.  In 1941, she married Melvin Peter Loff.  She lived in Mizpah on the family farm from 1950-1993.  Betty worked for the Northome Nursing Home for 20 years, retiring in 1985.  She was a  longtime member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, belonging to the Ladies Aid.  Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, gardening, reading, traveling after retirement and in later years, she loved listening to Garrison Keillor.  Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; sisters, Doris Suomala and Mavis Solo; brother, Donald Lee; and son-in-law, Michael Geringer.  She is survived by her children, Gary (Denise) Loff, Carol Geringer, Nancy (Bill) Thompson; 5 grandchildren, Scott, Danette, Andy, Marcy, Tony; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and brother, Ed Lee.  A memorial service was held Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 11:00 am at Bakken-Young Funeral Home in River Falls.  Visitation was also Thursday from 10-11 am before the service.  Private interment was in Longville Cemetery in Longville, MN.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
