Betsy Wahlstrom 08/28/2021

Betsy Jane Wahlstrom, 81, of River Falls, WI, died Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Comforts of Home, River Falls. She was born June 9, 1940, rural York, North Dakota, and grew up on a farm. She graduated from Jamestown College, with a degree in teaching. She lived in New Rockford and Carrington, ND, for many years, and had also been a resident of Panama City, FL and Milwaukee, WI. Since 2019, she has been a resident of Comforts of Home, River Falls. Betsy was a schoolteacher, as well as helped run the family jewelry business. She was preceded in death by her spouses, Dale Wahlstrom and Harry Elliott; her parents, Silas and Hazel Summers; one sister, Bessy Summers; and one brother, Donald Summers. She is survived by her brother, Sheldon (Mary Ann) Summers; two sons, Randy (Lorie) Wahlstrom of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Kevin (Peggy) Wahlstrom of Williamsburg, VA; three grandchildren, Ryan Wahlstrom, Michael (Taylor) Wahlstrom, and Vince Haag; and two great-grandchildren, Sophia Wahlstrom and Elena Wahlstrom. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a donation to the Salvation Army in memory of Betsy Wahlstrom. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 3:00PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (805 E Division Street) in River Falls with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Panama City, FL at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    To Randy, Kevin, and family. Peggy and I send our condolences on your loss. One of the things we always remembered about aunt Betsy. Was how soft spoken she was. And she always seemed to have a smile on her face. You’ll have many memories to look back on.
