Berneta Serene “Bea” Wolfe, age 89 of New Richmond, died peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Deerfield Gables. Berneta was born the daughter of Harry and Hattie Cook on January 26, 1922 in Star Prairie, Wisconsin. She grew up in Wagon Landing and graduated from Osceola High School in 1939. She held various jobs, but upholstery was her true passion. Bea also enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, sewing, gardening, and helping others in whatever way she could. Berneta married Leonard C. Wolfe on September 18, 1939 at the Stillwater, Minnesota courthouse. They enjoyed 61 happy years together before Lennie passed in 2001. Berneta is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Hattie Cook; husband, Leonard Wolfe; daughter, Dawn Wolfe; grandson, Jaime Wolfe; and brother, Lemoyne Cook. She is survived by her children, Chuck (Jeanie) Wolfe, Diane Doyle, and Joel (Melanie) Wolfe; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Verdis Cook, Fern Blodgett, and Wayne Cook. A Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 3 pm at the New Richmond KC Hall. Visitation was also Friday from 2-3 pm at the KC Hall. Interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery. “Grandma Bea” will live on in the hearts of many. Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of New Richmond.
