Bernadette Irene Soderquist, age 66, passed away at home on Thursday, August 6, 2015 with her husband, Stanley, by her side after a brief fight with tongue cancer.  Bernie was born in New Richmond, WI on March 31, 1949 to parents Theodore and Edith (Rogers) Wilson.  She spent her whole life living and working in New Richmond.   She graduated with honors from New Richmond High School in 1967, married Stan, the son of Art and Edith Soderquist, on June 19, 1971, and together raised two daughters, Susan and Stacy.  Bernie worked for a few different businesses in New Richmond throughout her life and retired in 2009 (with Stanley’s “permission”) from the Agate Inn after twenty plus years.
Bernie was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan.  She didn’t like to miss a game.  She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, together with Stan.
She is survived by Stanley, her husband of 44 years; her daughter, Susan (Corey) Rogers of Clear Lake, WI; her daughter, Stacy (Aaron) Miller of Somerset, WI; her grandchildren: Roy Rogers, Evan Rogers, Jesse Rogers, Jacob Miller, and Emma Miller; her brothers: Ted Wilson, Jr. of Clayton, WI, Tony Wilson of Forest Lake, MN, Tim Wilson of La Crosse,  WI, Joe Wilson of Beaver Dam, WI, and Christopher Wilson of Hayfield, MN; her sisters Christine Hicklin of Pagosa Springs, CO and Lisa (Dan) Hartigan of Boise, ID; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Bernie was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Edith Wilson; her brother, Gary Wilson; her sister, Becky Wilson; and infant brother, Michael Wilson.
There was a celebration of life gathering on Sunday, August 23rd from 1-5 at Ready Randy’s (Cty Rd G & Hwy 65) in New Richmond, WI.  Family and friends were invited for a light lunch and a Miller Lite (Bernie’s drink of choice).  Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
