Bernadette “Bernie” Parent

Bernadette “Bernie” Parent, age 76 passed away on January 11, 2020 at The Comforts of Home in Hudson, WI. Bernie was born on April 16, 1943 to Ernest & Fern Parent. Bernadette grew up with eight sisters and five brothers. She attended New Richmond High School and after graduation became a loving childcare provider for several families in town. She later worked at St. Croix Industries where she took great pride in her reputation for being speedy, efficient, and reliable on the job. Independent and spirited, she was a devout Catholic, and a Country Music Fan. She enjoyed making beautiful embroidered pillowcases for her loved-ones and was skilled at word searches and could play a mean game of Farkle.  Bernie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph Parent, Donald Parent, William Parent, Mary Schmit, Gloria Larson, Betty Larson and Sharon Vesper; in-laws, Lloyd Schmit, Sophia Parent, Donald Larson, Sandra Parent, Allen Larson and Dennis Vesper also her  nieces and nephews, Kathleen Schmit, Rick Schmit, Kristy Yager, Andy Larson, Ryan Swiggum, Bobby Sontag and Tom Parent.

Bernadette is survived by brothers and sisters: Tom (Beverly) Parent, Shirley (Dick) Sontag, Barbara (Donald) Prinsen, Gert (Robert) Mullen, Jim Parent, and Rita (Harry) Johnson.

Bernadette’s Celebration of Life will be postponed until a later date

In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Activity Department of Comforts of Home in Hudson or Lakeview Home Care and Hospice.
