Barbara Jean (Burbul) Hess

Barbara passed away surrounded by her family on June 3rd, 2021 at St. Croix County Health Care Center in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

Barbara was born on May 22, 1946 in Superior, WI to Joseph and Ann (Nord) Burbul. Barb grew up in Hawthorne  Wisconsin and graduated from Maple-Northwestern High school on May 22, 1964. Upon graduation, Barb enrolled in Vocational school in Antigo, WI where she met her future husband Tom during a cooking class. They were united in marriage on October 16, 1965. They were blessed with three children, Tammy, Tom Jr, and Tanya.

Barb worked at Park View nursing home in Woodville, WI. and Westfields Hospital in New Richmond as a housekeeper. Her favorite job was being a wife and mother. Barb took great pleasure in teaching her children to cook, bake, garden, and can. She shared her talents with many people and loved to share her baking and canning with friends and family. Barb also loved entering her baking, canning and antiques at the St. Croix county fair. She was very proud of the many ribbons she earned.

Barb spent many years as a volunteer with Adoray hospice and loved helping at the Treasures from the Heart stores in Baldwin and River Falls. Barb dedicated many hours cleaning and sorting items at both stores and made lasting friendships with many other volunteers and workers throughout her years there.

Barb is preceded in death by her husband, Tom and her Parents, Joseph and Ann Burbul.

Barb is survived by her daughters Tammy (Mark) Erickson of Wilson, Tanya Hess of St. Paul and her son Tom (Carla) Hess of Baldwin. Four Grandchildren Mitchell (Elizabeth) Erickson of River Falls, Mike Erickson of Glenwood City, Madeline Erickson of Wilson and Pearl Wallin of Baldwin. Barb is further survived by her sister Cecelia (Robert) LaPorte of Superior, Brothers Joseph Burbul of Cloquet, Charles (Cheryl) Burbul of Iron River and Timothy (Marian) Burbul of Superior and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will take place on July 24th 2021 from 11am to 4pm at Glen Hills County Park in Glenwood City, WI.
