David Larson 10/30/2025

David Orlan Larson, 77, of Baldwin, Wisconsin, formerly of River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, surrounded by his loving family.

David was born on September 23, 1948, in Baldwin, Wisconsin, the son of Oliver and Helen (Jahr) Larson. He grew up in River Falls and, after graduating from high school, he continued his education and went on to pursue a successful career in mechanical engineering and was known to always have a strong work ethic. Family was the center of David’s world. He took great joy in being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was his proudest legacy, and his presence will continue to live on through them.

David loved the outdoors and found peace in life’s simple pleasures, fishing, bonfires, sunny days, and long walks. He had a passion for farming, horses, antique cars, classic westerns, and never passed up a chance to ride a rollercoaster. He was an avid bowler. David also enjoyed game nights with friends.

He had an adventurous spirit and never turned down a chance to explore, whether it be traveling, metal detecting, or simply getting in the car and going for a drive, “enjoying the ride,” as he always said.

David is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Geraldine Larson. He will forever live in the hearts of his daughters, Tammy (Mark) Ferraro, Kim (Nate) Sykora, Jenny (Jeremy) Knospe, Lisa Larson, Joslyn Nordhougen; and his son, Cooper Larson (Destinee Struemke). Grandchildren: Logan, Jordan, Tayler, Jacob, Samuel, Emma, Anna, and Everett. Great-grandchildren: Peter, Louisa, Winifred, and Harvey. He leaves behind his brothers, Eugene (Carol) Larson, Leroy Larson, and Jim Larson (Carol Becker); and beloved brother-in-law, Kenny Sabby; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Helen Larson; sister, Audrey Sabby; sister-in-law, Karen Larson; and nephew, Danny Larson.

As we celebrate David’s life, we honor his laughter, warmth, and boundless love for family and friends. His memory will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of David’s Life was held on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 3-7 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI.

Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I haven’t seen David since I got drafted and we went on our own journeys. Our youthful friendship was a great time and a memory not forgotten.
