Shirley Mary Johnson, passed away peacefully on May 30th surrounded by her children. Shirley was born on September 11, 1942, in New Richmond, WI. She graduated from New Richmond High School in 1960. Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother, pouring her heart and soul into her family.
Shirley was a loving homemaker. She touched the lives of many children and families by providing in-home day care services in New Richmond. She later dedicated many years to working for St. Croix County in Economic Support where she eventually retired. Her kindness, humor, and spunky spirit endeared her to everyone who knew her.
Shirley’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a devoted Catholic, she attended Mass regularly. She found strength and peace in her relationship with God.
She loved flower gardening and spending time by the ocean whenever she could. She loved kayaking, taking road trips, and gathering with family for Saturday night dinners. A devoted Packers fan, she also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino and cherished walks with her beloved dog, Lulu. She treasured staying connected with friends from the neighborhood and her longtime friends from the county. One of her most memorable adventures was skydiving on her 60th birthday—a perfect reflection of her fearless and adventurous spirit.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Mary Demulling; siblings, Richard Demulling and David Demulling; and former husband, Lowell Johnson. Shirley is survived by her children, Eric Johnson, Michelle (Paul) Heiting, Jodi (Steven) Shafer, Lisa Johnson, Tory (Kathleen) Johnson, and Kristen Johnson; grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Zach (Allie Monk) Heiting, Chloe Heiting, Grace (Andrew Sheahan) Heiting, Abigail Shafer, Noah Shafer, Breanna Johnson, Carly Johnson; her dog Lulu; sisters-in-law, Judi Demulling, Mary Demulling; nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Kristen and entire Johnson family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Your mom was such a lovely gift to you all. Gentle, kind, wise, and funny, she dug down deep to fiercely guide.
She will always be near.
Peace be with all of you.
I used to work with your mom in the early 90’s for St. Croix County Economic Support. We were both brand new to the job and didn’t have a clue what to do! I have SO many good memories of her. She talked proudly of her kids and (at that time) her granddaughter Brianna(?). She was a great lady. So sorry for your loss.
I was her dog groomer for several years for Charlie and Lulu. Shirley was so kind and we would talk about our family’s and every day things whem she dropped off the pups. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing and she will be missed. Sending prayers of peace to her family
I worked in Economic Support with Shirley for many years. She was a great asset to our department and a kind and funny coworker.
Condolences to her family
Shirley and Lulu were such wonderful neighbors. I loved seeing her walking in the park and visiting along the way. Stella (our dog) had her best days when Lulu was at Paws & Claws with her. Rest in peace, sweet neighbor. To Shirley’s family, what a great loss. I’ll be thinking and praying for you all.
