Karla Durand 04/23/2026

Karla Krete Durand, age 86, passed away at Westfield Hospital on Thursday, April 23, 2026 with her family by her side.  She was born on February 3, 1940, in Illinois to Patricia and Dalan Jackson.  Karla spent her later years in New Richmond, Wisconsin, where she embraced the role of a devoted homemaker.  Karla was a graduate of Harlem Consolidated High School, in Rockford, Illinois on June 3rd, 1958.  Karla was united in marriage to Harry Durand on May 16th, 1959 and together raised 8 children.

Karla was a woman of warmth and kindness, leaving lasting impressions on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her heart was as big as her spirit, and she dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Karla is survived by her children, Dale, Pete (Lori), Debbie Green, Pam (Michael Stevens) Sorum, Trish (Greg) Bonnes, Diane Karis and Darren (Heidi); 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Karon Haas and Jackie (Tom) Puddicombe; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dalan and Patricia Jackson; husband, Harry; son, David; and grandson, Jeremy Green.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 12:00PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Richmond, Wisconsin with visitation starting at 11:00AM.
