Shari Lee Colby, 59, a lifetime resident of River Falls, WI, passed away June 21, 2026, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
Shari graduated from River Falls High School in 1985 and earned an associate degree from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, WI. She took great pride in her career, especially in the time she spent at the local flower shop. Known to family and friends as “Shotgun Shari” for her fearless defense against varmints (even from the lawnmower), Shari loved music—especially Prince—and treasured time spent with those she loved.
She found deep joy and pride in the planning of cherished family traditions and gatherings such as, girls’ camping weekends, taco nights, St. Patrick’s weekend, ATV trips, weekends at Lake 26, trips to Duluth, and longtime gatherings at Deer Camp. An avid gardener and landscaper, she enjoyed home projects and making outdoor spaces welcoming.
Shari is survived by her husband, Vern Colby; her daughter, Rachel Davids (Pete); and her parents, David and Virginia Luka. She will be deeply missed by a wide circle of family and friends who shared in her laughter, loyalty, and spirited presence.
A Life Celebration will be held at the American Legion Post 121 located at 701 North Main Street in River Falls, WI on July 19, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 PM. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution or charitable donation in honor and memory of Shari may do so in coordination with the family.

That’s the smiling face I remember way back in the 70s when I stayed with Shari during the days in the summer while Dave and Virginia were at work. The best “babysitting” job in town. Such a sweet girl. My heart goes out to her husband and folks and all friends and family. We will play games together again, Shari. God bless you and RIP.
