August Roettger 03/30/2014

August William RoettgerJr. passed away on March 30, 2014 in Stillwater, MN. August was born on October 14, 1931 in Lake Elmo, MN to August and Dora Roettger.  He grew up on a farm in Stanton Township, St. Croix County, WI and attended country school.  In August 1960, he married Audrey Wildasin of New Richmond, WI.  August lived in Star Prairie, WI most of his adult life.  He worked as a truck driver for United Trucking of Hudson and as a foreman at Sterling Refrigeration of New Richmond in his early years.  From 1970 until his retirement, he owned and operated Roettger Refrigeration. August loved hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.He especially enjoyed taking his grandchildren on fishing trips to Canada.He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother William. 

August is survived by sons Robert (Julie) of Blue Earth, MN; Ron (Rita) of Star Prairie, WI; and Rick (Patti) of Star Prairie, WI; grandchildren Caleb Roettger, Andy Dugstad, Laura Dugstad, Genna Mattson, Dustin (Whitney) Mattson; Ron (Sara) Roettger, Andy (Tracy Hansen) Roettger, Ricky (Courtney) Brockmiller, Kiris Brockmiller, Brandon Rees, Joanna (Jarad) Johnston-Richard, Jay Johnston, Joe (Amanda Irwin) Johnston, Chad Miller, Tom (Hillary) Miller, Derek (Sally) Miller; and 6 great-grandchildren; Sisters Dorothy Link of Glenwood, WI; Marion Larson (Vern) of Balsam Lake, WI; and brother Wilfred (Sue) of Somerset, WI; and many other family and friends.  A memorial service was held Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00 at at Bethany Lutheran Church in Star Prairie.  Memorial visitation was also Friday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church.  Cremation Services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
