Audrey A. Halverson, nee Pemble, age 83 of River Falls died Friday, October 24, 2014 at Comforts of Home in Hudson. Audrey was born the daughter of Carl and Alice (Sturm)Pemble on September 4, 1931 in St. Paul, MN. She grew up in the town of Troy on the St. Croix River. Audrey was a graduate of River Falls High School with the class of 1949. On January 14, 1950 she was married to DeLone “Bud” Halverson at the Pemble home on the St. Croix River. Audrey worked with her father in his factory, Pemble Lab. which later became Pemble-Halverson, Inc. The companies made OTABS, which were used to keep bait alive for fisherman. Audrey also served as township clerk, treasurer and on the zoning-planning committee in the township of Clifton. She enjoyed spending weeks up north at their cabin in Gordon, WI. with Bud, in the fall and especially “Halloween Weekend” with all the kids. She also enjoyed her garden, sewing and tole painting. Audrey was passionate about leaving this earth a better place by working with the Sierra Club, and educating people about “Buck Thorn”. She was a strong, confident woman who did all the things mothers do. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Alice Pemble; husband, DeLone “Bud” Halverson; and brother-in-law, Gene Wilson. Audrey is survived by her sons, Harold (Chris) Halverson and Howard (Michele) Halverson; grandchildren, Eric Halverson, Alicia (Nick) Davis, Dan (Crystal) Halverson; great-grandchildren, Megan Halverson, Madelyn Halverson, Shakira Davis, Talan Davis, Corbin Halverson; sister, Rose Marjorie Wilson; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be directed to Ezekiel Lutheran Church WELCA, The Sierra Club, or The Kinnickinnic Land Trust. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11 am at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls. Memorial Visitation was also Thursday from 10-11 am at the church. Interment was in Mann Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
