Arthur N. Hakola (Art) died June 19, 2026 due to complications from cancer.

Art was born August 30, 1951 to Gertrude & Arthur Hakola, growing up in Loyal, Wisconsin.

Art attended UWRF earning a degree in Engineering. After graduation, Art further established himself in River Falls where he worked at Kolpak and Vollrath. Although finding satisfaction from his work, he found his purpose through Alcoholics Anonymous.

Many Friends, and his beloved cat, Max, enjoyed his companionship, sincerity, humor, and perspective and everyone, near and far, benefited from his baritone laugh.

Anne Kressly and Art were blessed to find each other later in life. They spent time traveling, joking, cooking, and enjoying each other’s compassion and company.

Arrangements to honor Art’s life will be held later this year.
