Arno Birr 09/24/2015

Arno Bernhard Birr, age 92 of River Falls, died on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Kinnic Health & Rehab in River Falls.  He was born the son of Bernhard and Ida (Bartsch) Birr on February 24, 1923 in Good Thunder, MN.  In 1944, he married, Marion Duden.  Arno began working in the Sand and Gravel Business and later began farming.  Arno and his family moved to River Falls in 1971.  He loved tractor pulls and especially watching his son, Marvin and grandson, Adam compete.  He also enjoyed spending winters at their home in Arizona.  Arno is preceded in death by his son, Jeffery A. Birr; parents, Bernhard and Ida Birr; sister, Laurina (Edwin) Bunde; brother, Walter Birr.  He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marion; children, JoAnn (Chuck) Fulks, Marvin (Brenda) Birr; grandchildren, Kimberly (Bill) Seagraves, Suzie (Rick) Smith, Adam Birr; great grandchildren, Jesse, KC, Kyle, Mandy; and sister-in-law, Louise Birr.  A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church 137 S Houk Street Good Thunder, MN.  Visitation was held on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 5-8 pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI and on Saturday from 10-11 am at the church.  Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
