Arlene Turnipseed 08/08/2018

Arlene Eva Turnipseed, age 84 of New Richmond, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Deerfield Gables Care Center. Arlene was born the daughter of Ray and Cora (Dalton) Dyer on January 21, 1934, at home in Richland County, WI. She grew up in Excelsior, WI graduating from Blue River High School. She married Larry W. Turnipseed on March 4, 1955 at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Richland Center, WI.
They resided in Lone Rock, WI and Arlene worked at WRCO radio in Richland Center. When Arlene and Larry started a family, Arlene was able to stay home to raise their children. In 1971, they moved to New Richmond for Larry’s work. In 1979, the family decided to farm, manufacture milk replacer and cattle feed. Arlene did the bookkeeping for their business. Arlene and Larry, along with their son and daughter-in-law, also owned and operated Pine Meadows Golf Course in New Richmond.
Arlene was a member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church, and sang in the church choir. She was an avid bowler, fast pitch softball player and later slow pitch. She enjoyed golfing and played Community Ed volleyball into her 70s. Arlene enjoyed reading and was a big Packers, Brewers, and Badgers fan. She was patient, loving, beautiful, and hard-working as well as a fiercely competitive and a self-sufficient, strong woman.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Cora Dyer; siblings, Martha (Jack) Zintz, Dorrine Miller, Lavonne (Alice) Dyer, Milford (Joy) Dyer, Melvin Dyer, and Byron Dyer; and brother-in-law, Junior Zintz. She is survived by her husband, Larry Turnipseed; children, Shari (Tim) Henrich, Gary (Jill) Turnipseed, and Janelle (Ryan) Stephens; grandchildren, Erin (Adam) Turner, Nicholas (Michelle) Henrich, Casey Turnipseed, Joey Turnipseed, and Max Stephens; great-grandchildren, Lindson Turner, Sierra Turner, River Turner, Ayazi Turner, Hannah Henrich, Samantha Henrich, and Sarah Henrich; siblings, Bernard Dyer and Louella Zintz; in-laws, Donald Miller and Joyce Dyer; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A Funeral Service was held Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church (209 E 2nd St, New Richmond, WI 54017). Visitation was held Sunday from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the church. Interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
