Anne Jilek 11/15/2015

Anne Shirley Boortz Jilek,72, of River Falls, WI, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at home from complications of cancer, surrounded by her family.

Anne was born to Glenn and Shirley (Livingston) Boortz on January 9, 1943.  She married Tony Jilek on August 22, 1964.  Her kids and grandkids were always a highlight of her life.  She worked as an LPN/RN for many years at River Falls Area Hospital.

Anne spent 6 years in Latin America with her family, which fueled a continuing interest in volunteering through the Free Clinic in River Falls and the Eye Glass Mission in Nicaragua.  Anne was a great supporter of many causes, including fighting cancer, ALS, strokes, heart issues, etc.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Jo.  She is survived by her loving husband Tony of River Falls; daughters Jodi (Allen) Bauer of Roberts, WI and Amy Jilek of Andover, MN and son Michael (Shelly) Jilek of River Falls, WI; her grandchildren Keegan, Lauren, Troy, Brooke, Logan, Brandon & Brady; her siblings Larry Boortz of Rice Lake, WI, Cathy (Bob) Schmidt of Webster, WI, Jim Boortz of Rice Lake, WI, Jerry (Vicky) Boortz of LaCrosse, WI, Tim (Mary) Boortz of Osseo, WI, Barbara (Paul) Jeffery of Omaha, NE, John (Diane) Boortz of Rice Lake, WI, Cyndi (Rick) Boortz-Marx of Durham, NC, Carmen Boortz of LaCrosse, WI and Lisa (Ken) Hafstad of Rice Lake, WI; her aunt Leona Nelson of Rice Lake, WI and uncle Bud (Betty) Livingston of Canton, WI; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11 am at St. Bridget Catholic Church.  Visitation was Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 4-8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral Home in River Falls and also Friday from 10-11 am at the church.  Interment was in St. Bridget Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
