Anita Solmonson 02/22/2018

Anita Marie Solmonson, age 79 of New Richmond, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at home. Anita was born the only daughter of Harold Sr. and Beulah (nee Short) Robinette. She was raised in Mendota Heights, MN. Anita raised four daughters and one son by herself. She was a hardworking woman with a spit-fire spirit who was adored and loved by many. She loved listening to country music, playing bingo, and having grandkids pull her finger.  Anita wanted to officially let everyone know that after all these years she has decided her work here is done and she is going to officially retire. She received a call, an amazing offer that she really couldn’t refuse. Unfortunately, with this offer, she cannot return here to us. Although she will miss all of us here, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and so many others; she is very excited to be reunited with the many others she has been missing for so long. She is over the moon for this new adventure and will be meeting up to play bingo all day with her best friend Chick and drinking frozen daiquiris while eating rosettes with Aunt Jeanette while her brothers, Harold and Ronnie are playing and singing in the background.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Sr. and Beulah Robinette; brothers, Harold Jr. (Jeanette) Robinette, Ronald Robinette; and precious baby boy, Ronald “peanut” Jr. She is survived by her children, Marie (Rodney) Frederick, Sandra (Franklin) Flack, Barbara (Andre) France, Charles Solmonson, Olanda McAndrew with Kalina Solmonson; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Anthony (Donna) Robinette; sister-in-law, Wanda Robinette; and numerous nieces and nephews.  A Celebration of Anita’s Life was held on Saturday, February 24. 2018 at 233 Croft Street New Richmond, WI in the Community Room from 11am-7pm and on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 11am-3pm. Please bring a dish to share and a story of your time with Anita.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family of Anita, thank you.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
