Andrew Luebker 08/10/2025

Andrew Alvin Harvey von Duevelshaupt Luebker (aka Felix), 66, of Stillwater, MN passed away suddenly on August 10th, 2025, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN, surrounded by family.

He was born on March 5th, 1959, in Bangor, Northern Ireland to Eugene A. T. Luebker and Jeanne Marie Downs-Luebker. The family later returned to Stillwater, MN where Andrew grew up and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1977. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton College in 1981 with majors in both Physics and Psychology. He later worked in the Minnesota Laboratory for Low-Vision Research, Department of Psychology, University of Minnesota and contributed to the development of the MNREAD Acuity Chart, an internationally accepted standard for measuring visual performance in reading.

Andrew was fascinated by science and technology. He loved to share and discuss new things he had learned. He was talented at working with electronics from a young age that later developed into an aptitude with computers. He will be remembered for his passion to collect and trade vintage or unique items he had found, as well as his generosity in sharing them with others. His pride and joy in life were his three sons and his grandson. His absence will be felt by all who knew him.

Andrew is survived by his children, Nicholas (Holly) Luebker of Arvada, CO, Stephen (Cassandra) Luebker, and Eugene (Amanda) Luebker both of Madison, WI as well as their mother and his former wife, Coral Frazell of Bellevue, NE; his grandson Thomas Luebker of Arvada, CO; his siblings Michael (Terree) Emrich of Woodstock, IL, Mark Luebker (Kathleen Fairfax) of Fort Collins, CO, Peter Luebker, John Luebker both of Stillwater, MN, Elizabeth R. M. Luebker of White Bear Lake, MN, and Paul (Olga) Luebker of Bloomington, MN. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jeanne Marie Downs-Luebker, Eugene A. T. Luebker, and his infant sister, Elizabeth Emma Louise Luebker.

A visitation and memorial will be held on Saturday August 16th, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave N, Stillwater, MN. Immediate family will follow for a private interment at Birchwood Cemetery, 455 10th St SW, Pine City, MN.
