Amara Rose Schaffhausen age 11 of River Falls died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at her home. She was born October 5, 2000 in Springfield, IL. She attended Greenwood Elementary School and was in the 5th grade. Amara participated in Girl Scouts, junior soccer, becoming the most improved player and gymnastics. She was a budding scientist, baker and pie maker. Her favorite restaurant was the India Palace. Amara was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Society receiving the Meditation Award. She is survived by her mother, Jessica; aunt and godmother, Mary Liz Stotz; uncle and godfather, John Stotz; maternal grandparents, Phillip and Becky Stotz; cousins, Eryn Elizabeth Schlotte, Leeam Jacob Davis. Also surviving her are her paternal grandparents; Roger (Doreen)Schaffhausen and Suzanne (Tommy) Allen; aunts and uncles, Eric (Kara M.) Schaffhausen, Jon (Emily) Schaffhausen, Ben (Kara L.) Schaffhausen, Sonny (Michael) Knowles, Jehu Allen, Hannah Allen, Megan Larsen; cousins, Liam, Abigail, Madelyn, Leah, Tyler, Sam, Olivia, Grace; great great aunts and uncle, Aline Colter, Erhard and Donna Stotz; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by great grandparents, Flint and Mary E. Watt, Harold and Virginia Stotz, Donald and Bernice Schaffhausen; step great grandmother, Gladys Schaffhausen; great uncles, Nicholas E. Stotz and Thomas A. Colter. A memorial service wias held Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club (163 Radio Road, River Falls). Visitation was also Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 pm at Kilkarney Hills. Private family services were held and interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in Amara Rose’s name to the River Falls Community Food Pantry 222 N Main St. River Falls, WI 54022 or Benefit Account for the Schaffhausen Girls C/O First National Bank P.O.
