Agnes (Ailts) Tamoshaitis
March 6, 1935 – November 14, 2025
Agnes Tamoshaitis, a kind and gentle soul whose warmth and love touched everyone she met, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Born on March 6, 1935, to Alice and Albert Ailts, Agnes grew up on the family farm in Deer Park, Wisconsin, alongside her beloved brother, Duane. From an early age, she was known for her generous heart, quick smile, and quiet strength — qualities that defined her life and the deep relationships she nurtured.
While living in Denver, Colorado, Agnes met the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Tamoshaitis. They married on August 26, 1961, and shared sixty-two wonderful years together. In 1975, they made their home in New Richmond, Wisconsin, where they built a beautiful property overlooking a peaceful pond. There, they delighted in watching the deer, turkeys, and geese that visited daily and shared their lives with many beloved pets over the years.
Agnes had a gift for creating an environment of warmth, care, and belonging wherever she went. She was humble and gracious, always quick to offer kind words or praise, and found joy in life’s simple pleasures — a good conversation, a visit from family, or the comfort of her cat, Tigger. An avid antique collector, she appreciated the charm and story behind each treasured piece, much like the way she valued people — each one special and worth cherishing.
After Tony’s passing, Agnes continued to enjoy the simple pleasures of life at The Deerfield, where she formed close friendships and was known for her kindness, grace, and gentle humor.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Albert Ailts; her brother Duane and sister-in-law Dolores Ailts; her beloved niece Ann Niederhauser; and her dear husband, Tony Tamoshaitis.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews – Wayne and Mary Jo Ailts, Greg Ailts, Cheryl Ailts, and Jim Niederhauser – and by her extended family who adored her: Joe (Ilisa) Ailts and their children Evan, Nolan, Calvin & Lincoln; Chris (Rae Ann) Ailts and their children Nevaeh & Adrianna; and Danielle (Dan) Campeau and their children Colten & Oaklen. Though she never had children of her own, Agnes’s love ran deeply through generations – she was “Aunt Ag” to all of us, and we are better for having been loved by her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025 with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 4:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond. Private interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Gregory’s Gift of Hope, reflecting Agnes’s lifelong love of animals.
Agnes’s humility, grace, and gentle heart leave a lasting imprint on all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
