William (Bill) H. WOOD (November 7th, 1949 – April 17th, 2025)
It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we share the passing of Bill Wood, who left this world surrounded by family and laughter -just the way he would have wanted. Bill was a man who truly lived life to the fullest, devoting himself entirely to the people he loved and the joy he could bring to others.
For 53 years, Bill shared a beautiful, unwavering bond with his beloved wife, Mary. Their love was the foundation of a life rich in laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories. Together, they created a home where everyone was welcome, and where the sound of laughter-often Bill’s never seemed to fade.
A natural entertainer, Bill had a gift for comedy and a heart set on making others smile. Whether through a well-timed joke, a witty comeback or one of his classic stories, he could light up a room and lift spirits like few others could, He lived to laugh, and even more so, to make others laugh.
Bill loved being surrounded by friends and family, hosting countless gatherings that always turned into something special. If you came to visit, chances are you’d end up at the card table. Poker nights were his favorite – competitive, loud, and full of fun-and Bill played to win. Always. And if he did win, you’d definitely hear about it (probably more than once).
Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will live on in every person lucky enough to know him. He showed us how to find joy in everyday life and how to love with our whole hearts.
He is survived by his wife Mary, 3 children, Sueanne, Bob, Mike (Brittany Wood), also survived by 5 grandchildren: Ashley, Emily, Sydney, Breckyn and Adrian and countless friends who became family over the years. While we will miss him dearly, we know he’s somewhere now, holding a winning hand, grinning from ear to ear.
We’ll keep the cards shuffled and the laughter going, just as he would’ve wanted.
A lunch to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 12:00 to 4:00PM at the family home; the space he loved the most, his workshop where he spent his retirement years detailing cars and telling tall tales.
All who knew and loved him are welcome to join us in honoring his life.
