Violet Marie Dunn, 92, of New Richmond, Wisconsin, passed away on June 1, 2025, due to natural causes. Born on June 12, 1932, in New Richland, Minnesota, she was the beloved daughter of her family. Violet graduated from Waldorf High School and went on to build a loving home for her family after marrying her husband on June 17, 1953, in Waldorf. In 1964, she moved with her family to New Richmond, where she continued to nurture her passion for family and community.
Violet was a devoted homemaker, finding joy in raising her children and later investing time in her numerous grandchildren. She cherished her family above all, celebrating life’s moments with them. In addition to her family commitments, Violet was an active member of her church, graciously participating in the bell choir. Her interests included painting, tending to her plants, and enjoying the companionship of her beloved dogs. A true sports wife, mother and grandmother, she shared many memorable moments supporting her husband, children, and grandchildren’s teams and activities while creating lasting memories with loved ones.
Violet is survived by her son, Douglas (Linda) Dunn; daughter, Nancy (Ron) Wilson; son, Steven (Mary) Dunn; daughter, Laurie (Jason) Sadowski; grandchildren Ben Wilson, Brian Wilson, April (Scott) Morgan, Heather (Ben) Naylor, Mandi (Dillon) Zielske, Chris (Heather) Kunkle, Carol (Austin) Brunette, Sarah (Justin) Malaise, Alison (Bobby) Hach, and Matthew (Gaby) Dunn; great-grandchildren Jocelyn, Kellen, Bryce, McKenzi, Kylie, Madison, Caleb, Nolan, Lincoln, Kayla, Paige, Briar, Blakely, Kate and Apollo; and sister-in-law Elyse Skinner. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
Her family will hold a burial service to honor her life and legacy, celebrating the profound impact Violet had on those around her. In due time, they invite friends and family to join them in remembering the beautiful life of Violet Marie Dunn.
Violet was preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Lena Skinner; husband, Wallace Dunn; siblings, Marvin Skinner and an infant sister; and granddaughter, Amy Lynn Wilson.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 2 pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 365 W River Drive New Richmond, WI. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 1-2 pm at the church. Interment will be the New Richmond Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I so looked forward to my daily visits with Vi. She taught me a lot about plants and we shared our love for dogs. My deepest sympathies to her family. I will miss our conversations and the stories we shared. RIP beautiful lady.
