THOMAS H. SMITH October 27, 1930 to August 19, 2015 Thomas Henry Smith of Lake Geneva, WI, died on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the age of 84. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son. He was born in Youngstown, OH and was the 5 of 10 children born to William A. and Grace G. Smith (nee Eyster). He graduated from Boardman High School in 1948. He then served in the Air Force from 1949 to 1953. In 1960, he started a 30 year career with Allstate Insurance Company in Northbrook, IL. He retired in 1990 as an Assistant Vice President. Tom enjoyed travel, golf and had a love for aviation. He also enjoyed giving back to the community and was active in the Jaycees, the Boys and Girls Club, the society of St. Vincent de Paul, local food pantries and Meals on Wheels. He also served on the board of the United Way Half Way House in Waukegan, IL. Most of all, Tom enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. Thomas is survived by his wife Catherine L. Smith (nee VanMeter); his son and daughter in law, Thomas G. and Tamara L. Smith of Youngstown, OH, his daughter and son in law, Melanie J. and Donald C. Jackson of Round Lake Beach, IL, his step son and daughter in law John W. and Janet M. Eubanks of Augusta, MO, his step son Richard C. Eubanks of Acworth, GA, his son and daughter in law Brian D. and Edna L. Smith, of Crystal Lake, IL, his daughter and son in law, Michele M. and Garry J. Ballek of Huntley, IL, his son Christopher A. Smith of Boardman, OH and step son, Thomas B. Eubanks of New York, NY. His is also survived by his brother and sister in law Carroll D. and Marilynn Smith of Youngstown, OH, his brother and sister in law Howard P. and Carol S. Smith of Elkhorn, NE, his brother and sister in law Donald J. and Carol M. Smith of Santa Ana, CA, his sister and brother in law Barbara J. and Francis (Joe) Carothers of Boardman, OH, his brother and sister in law John M. and Shaun M. Smith of Santa Ana, CA, 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His is preceded in death by his first wife Marilyn J. Smith (nee Sebaugh) of Mundelein, IL, his father and mother William A. and Grace G. Smith (nee Eyster), his sister, Wilma A. Smith of Youngstown, OH, his brother, William A. Smith of Lincolnwood, IL, his sister Helen L. Turnbull (nee Smith) of Poland, OH, and his sister Annabelle G. Yeaney (nee Smith) of Mayport, PA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Toynton Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha St., Walworth, WI 53184. There will be a visitation at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church 117 Dewey St., Fontana, WI 53147 at 10:00 a.m. followed by mass at 11:00 a.m. A VISITATION will also be held at 9 AM on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH in New Richmond, WI. INTERMENT to follow visitation at 10 AM at the parish cemetery. Donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul may be made in memory of Tom.
