Sarah Meier (1974-2025)

Sarah was born on January 25, 1974, to Larry and Nancy Strathman of Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from high school at Minnehaha Academy, where she accepted her admission shortly after to the University of Wisconsin- River Falls, receiving her degree in Physical Education and graduated with honors. She spent time in Japan and in the Caribbean Islands where she perfected her practice and climbed Mount Fuji.

A while later, Sarah married and started a family in River Falls, where she pursued multiple hobbies such as music, cooking, and caring for her pet chickens, cats, and dog. She loved gardening in the summer, and celebrating Christmas in the winter- a very fond memory for the whole family. She was a very devoted mother, who always went above and beyond to make her children happy and to keep the house as welcoming as possible. She worked as a teacher, a deli cook, and as a baker- all careers that made her a very well-known person within the community.

She is survived by her mother, Nancy, sister, Karen, and her three children, Kyle (26), Charlotte (24), and Lucy (21); as well as her beloved dog, Arte, who will miss her immensely.

She is preceded in death by her father, Larry, and her son, Owen, as well as many other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
