Roland (Rolly) William Janetski, 79, River Falls found peace on January 2, 2026 at Kinnic Nursing Home. He was born on December 12, 1946 to Roland E. and Mary Janetski in Park Falls, WI.
Rolly attended high school at St. Procopius Academy near Chicago and received a Bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He met his wife, Kathy while attending college and they married on September 11, 1971. He diligently worked for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for over 35 years.
Rolly was active both with his family and community. He became a reliable chaperone for the River Falls High School Marching band for 7 years as his children participated. He also endured numerous band concerts, art exhibits, figure skating practices, theatre productions, and other school events while supporting his children.
Rolly also loved walnut harvesting, tending to the gardens and in the past, bowling. He also enjoyed following the Brewers, Packers, and Bucks games. He was a regular at Swede’s Service as he enjoyed Swede and chatting with other regulars. Rolly was well known at Saint Bridget’s Catholic Church on Saturday nights where served as an usher. Rolly was also a regular fixture for years at school board (even after all of his children graduated) and town board meetings serving on many ad hoc committees. He was valued for his progressive, yet practical, opinions.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Marsha (Dave Ghegan) Los Angeles, CA; Beth (Mike Watson) Cross Plains, WI; and Daniel (Corinne) Southborough, MA; grandson, Camden; and step-mother, Judy in Phillips, WI.
Celebration of life services will be held at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church at a future date. Please check back for updated date/time. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Rolly will be missed by his community and by me. He was a life long, loyal, dear friend.
Rolly and Kathy have been good friends since college days. He will be missed. Our prayers are with the family.
