Robert L. Perkins 10/12/2024

Robert Leo “Bob” Perkins, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Hammond Health Services in Hammond, WI. He was born in Lake Placid, NY on December 24, 1932 the son to Luke and Dorothy (Turner) Perkins. At the age of 19, Bob joined the U.S. Army and went to serve during the Korean War earning a Purple Heart and many other recognitions. Bob had a very strong work ethic. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering, skiing, dancing, and cooking. He was very kind and giving, often putting aside his own needs to help others. Bob is survived and remembered by his family, relatives, and close friends. A military memorial service was held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral and Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond, WI. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Military honors was provided by New Richmond VFW Post #10818. Memorials may be directed to dementia research and cure in honor of Bob. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral and Cremation Services.
