Robert “Bob” Howard 05/22/2025

Robert “Bob” Henry Joseph Howard passed away on May 22, 2025.

He was born on October 26, 1938, on the family farm to Everett and Lucille (Goebel) Howard. In 1961 he bought his first service station, Standard Oil and ran it for over 50 years. He was a volunteer for the Newport fire department for 33 years. Newport police reserve 10 years, active on MSSA\ SDA for many years as president and vice president. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wayde; brothers, Don (Rita), Glen; brother-in-law, Tom Dahl; sister-in-law Reni.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Sue of 55 wonderful years; sons, Scott, Rob (Jamie); daughters, Ramie (Mike), Pam (Erik); daughter-in-law, Lori; brothers, Lauren (Marianne) Howard, Harold (Kathy) Howard; brother-in-law Stan (Jean) Anderson; sisters-in-law, Linda Howard, Kathy MacDonald; and 8 special grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday May 31, 2025, at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ 7008 Lamar Ave. S Cottage Grove MN. The visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11:30 at the church. Luncheon afterwards.
