BAYPORT, Minn. — Richard Joseph Barnes passed away Aug 29, 2025, in Bayport MN after an extended illness.
Rich was born December 5, 1971 in Springfield, IL., to Loren and Sheryl Barnes. He graduated in 1990 from Glenwood High School in Chatham, IL. Rich loved everything related to farming and spending time with his family, particularly his nieces and younger cousins. Rich moved with his parents to New Richmond, WI. in 2015, to be near family already in the area.
Rich is survived by his mother, Sheryl Barnes, and sister, Amy (Clayton Dumcum) Barnes, of Bayport, Minn., nieces Natalie and Rachel Dumcum, several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Loren Barnes.
No local service is planned. Burial will be at a later date in Divernon, IL. Cremation Service provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

I knew Riche in High School many years ago in High school back in Illinois. Richie was very good people, and I got the chance to see him at his Father ( Loren’s ) funeral. My condolences to /aamy and the family for your loss
