Raymond Elmer Meschke, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2016 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ray was born on July 7, 1937 in Morristown, Minnesota and graduated high school in 1955. On October 14th, 1961 he married LaVonne (Miller) in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ray and LaVonne lived in Minnesota when they started their family. Ray worked in management with Murphy Motor Freight trucking company. In 1973, the Meschkes moved to New Richmond, Wisconsin. Ray was enlisted in the National Guard for 11 years. Ray and LaVonne raised their two children and lived together for 54 years. In his later years, Ray worked at ABF trucking company then at Phoenix Fixtures as a maintenance repair technician. Ray was very handy at working with metal and welding; he loved building wagons, hitches and other things for friends and neighbors. Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Augusta (Geisler); and father, Elmer Meschke. Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, LaVonne; children, Dan (Teresa) Meschke and Sue (Joe) Cranston; grandchildren, Andrew (Melissa) Meschke, Cady Meschke, Roy Cranston, Walter Cranston and Irene Cranston; siblings, Bob (Joy) Meschke and Myrna (Dean) Melby. A visitation will be held on Tuesday January 19, 2016 from 10:30 AM to 12 PM at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home in New Richmond. Memorial Service will be held at 12 PM following the visitation at the Funeral Home. A reception will immediately follow the Memorial Service at The Boardman Bypass.
