Raymond Lee Gehrke was born October 30, 1954 in Duluth, Minnesota. Raymond died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond, Wisconsin surrounded by his loving family. Raymond enjoyed handyman work, was an animal rescuer and collected decorative saw blades. He was a Stationary Engineer at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents, August and Dorothy (Lewellin) Gehrke; sisters, Karen Gehrke and Shirley Stoffel; and brother, Doug Gehrke. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Grace (Johnson); beloved and cherished daughters, Rachel and Michelle; sisters, Verdel Brown, Lois (Paul) Stephan, Debbie (Al) Bergstrom; brothers, August (Paulette), David, Charles; brother-in-law, Michael Stoffel; also many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Raymond’s Life will be held 11 AM on Monday December 15, 2014 at the CULLEN CREA FUNERAL HOME 307 South Arch Avenue in New Richmond, Wisconsin Pastor Alice Ulrich will officiate.The Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Raymond’s pallbearers will be Neil Sample, Robert Gehrke, Clarence Johnson, Michael Stoffel, Travis Neubauer and the honorary pallbearers will be David Gehrke, August Gehrke, Paul Stephan, Charles Gehrke, Alan Bergstrom. Raymond’s burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
