Nicholas “Nick” Donahue 08/31/2025

Nicholas “Nick” William Donahue, age 36, of New Richmond, Wisconsin passed away on August 31, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.

Nick was born August 10, 1989, to Sheila Ferguson Hartsuiker and Bill Donahue.  He grew up with a love for trucking and dirt track racing, and he was happiest when he was surrounded by family, friends, and the roar of engines.

Most of all, Nick was a devoted dad.  His daughters, Isla (12) and Shay (7), were the true light of his life, and every moment with them was his greatest joy.  He also cherished the loyal companionship of his beloved lab, Bo.

Nick is survived by his daughters, Isla and Shay; his mother, Sheila Ferguson (Arvid) Hartsuiker; his brothers, Cullen (Brianna) Donahue, Patrick (Vickie) Donahue, and Kelly (Laura) Peterson; grandmother, Judy Ferguson; and his “brother at heart”, Derrick Reed.  He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Donahue, his grandmother, Kathleen “Kaddy” Donahue, and his grandfather, Rusty Ferguson.

To celebrate Nick’s life, we invite everyone to join us on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services in New Richmond (728 S Knowles Ave). We will have a special memory sharing and prayer service beginning at 7:30 pm, where we can come together to remember and honor him. The memory sharing and prayer service will be livestreamed via the link below.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making a memorial contribution to support Isla and Shay’s future care. The following links are made available for making memorial contributions: Click here to contribute with Go Fund Me OR  Click here to contribute with Venmo Team Nick

Also, don’t forget about the memorial benefit in Nick’s honor on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 12:00 to 5:00 pm at R&D Banquet Facility (1492 131st St, New Richmond). It will be another opportunity to gather, share stories, and show support for his family.

Nick’s spirit, and the love he gave his girls, will forever ride on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Click here to watch the livestream of the memory sharing and prayer service for Nick at 7:30 pm on September 10th.
