Michael “Mick” James Rivard, age 70, of Star Prairie, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughter by his side after suffering a battle with cancer. He was born on July 10, 1945 to Alvin and Johnora (Struemke) Rivard. Michael served our country as a tank mechanic in the Vietnam War, following his service he had other jobs and then opened his own auto garage on the west side of New Richmond; after he became a maintenance supervisor at St. Croix Press for 25 years. In his free time he loved riding his Harley, fishing, watching Nascar, working outside at his home, and always being a handy man. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Peg Rivard; and niece, Brenda Muskus. He is survived by his beloved wife, Melanie (Osborne) Rivard; daughter, Brittanie (Jeremiah) Lutz; sons, Rick Rivard and Chad (Amy) Rivard; brothers, John (Cheryl) Rivard and Ed Rivard; sisters, Donna Reyes, Carol Muskus, Judy Rivard, Kathy Rivard, Ann (Larry) Lange, Louise (Peter) Martinson; granddaughters, Ruby Rivard, Scarlet and Isabelle Lutz. In-laws; Klink (Linda) Osborne and brother-in-law Randy Osborne. Michael will be missed by many nieces, nephews and countless friends. Mick will especially miss all of his morning coffee buddies. A visitation to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday November 19, 2015 from 3-7 PM at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home, 307 South Arch Avenue in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
