Maynard was dearly loved by his wife, siblings, children, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren . In the days before learning disabilities were understood Maynard received 8 grades of education before leaving school to enter the work force. His early career was centered on the neighborhood baking industry.

He pursued his love and affinity for electronics by furthering his education at the DeForest Institute of Technology (now DeVry) in Chicago Illinois. He was drafted into the US army at age 18 and was honorably discharged after World War 2 ended. He spent most of his secular career in large scale recycling and industrial manufacturing. Though reading was difficult, his brilliance became evident in his electronics and computer pursuits. He holds several US patents. His hobbies included special occasion cake decorating, raising tropical fish and radio controlled model airplanes. The defining moments in Maynard’s life were twofold. First; becoming acquainted with Jehovah’s Witnesses shortly after leaving the armed forces and second; meeting, falling in love with and then marrying the love of his life, wife Florence on January 28th 1951.

Maynard was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 20th, 1950 and from that point on he centered his life on serving Jehovah, the Almighty and True God and Grand Creator that he came to know by name and by imitating to the best of his ability God’s son, Jesus Christ who’s ransom sacrifice made everlasting life possible for sinful humans. Maynard lovingly provided for his wife and 2 sons physically and emotionally and always took an unflinching lead in regular worship. He died with his faith in tact, fully trusting in God’s promise to him of a resurrection to everlasting life on a cleansed, paradisiac earth. He shared the bible’s message with his neighbors wherever he lived and finally with many of the health care professionals that he encountered during his declining years. He will be sadly and sorely missed by his family, close friends and congregation.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2:00 PM with a memorial talk to follow at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 1303 210th Avenue, New Richmond, Wisconsin 54017 on Saturday, November 12th.
