Mavis M. Marson of New Richmond, Wisconsin died peacefully surrounded by family on January 4, 2015 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was born on November 11, 1927 in Barron, Wisconsin to Arthur E. and Bernice O. (Kimmel) Hanson. She grew up in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Mavis married Gaynor “Bud” Marson on August 18, 1949. Mavis and Bud owned a service station in New Richmond for over 35 years until they retired in 1991. She loved camping, fishing, cooking, sewing and attending sporting events. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Don Hanson. Mavis is survived by her loving husband Gaynor “Bud” of 65 years. She is also survived by her children, Linda (Greg) Grass, Jean (Brad) Lawrence, Patty (Jim) Jackson, Dave (Melinda) Marson, Jill (Chris) Feneis. Her grandchildren, Bryan (Molly) Grass, Lisa (Mike) Barcalow, Dave (Tammy) Grass, Lindsy (Andy) Lauzon, Brandon Marson (Beth Burgess), Megan Cook (Trent Fitzer), Emily Cook (Bryon VanDyke), Ali Marson, Anna Marson, Caitlin Feneis, Alison Feneis and eight great-grandchildren. Brother, Robert (Mary) Hanson, sister, Ranae (Laton) Henderson, sisters-in-law Marlene Hanson and Derith Marson, and many nieces and nephews. Mavis had a wonderful sense of humor and was full of spunk. Her persistent one-liners could bring a chuckle and smile to us all. Whether you met her for the first time or knew her for years, you couldn’t help loving her warm and caring personality and her infectious smile. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL WILL BE HELD AT 11 AM SATURDAY JANUARY 10, 2015 AT IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the CHURCH.
