
Beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, sister-in-law, and friend.
On Thursday, May 21, 2020, Mary passed away peacefully at home after a courageous 3-year battle with breast cancer surrounded by her family in a room filled with love.
Mary Margaret Kotten was born at home in Gibbon, MN to Leona and Joseph Kotten. She grew up in rural Regal, MN and graduated from Belgrade High School. She went to work at the St. Cloud Hospital as a surgical assistant.
Mary married Lee Feneis on Feb 4th, 1967 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Regal, MN. Lee and Mary lived in St Cloud and Zumbrota, MN and moved to New Richmond, WI in 1968. Mary and Lee raised their family in New Richmond and after their children had grown, Mary worked for St. Croix County Behavioral Health for 20 years.
She is survived by her true love and husband, Lee; daughters, Lynn of Minneapolis, Claudia (Dennis) Earley of New Richmond; sons, Christopher (Jill) of New Richmond, Edgar Figueroa of Guatemala; son in law Dave (Laurie) of Somerset; grandchildren, Brian (Ashley) of Green Bay, Alex of Madison, David (Amber) of Somerset, Caitlin (Jon) Mannon of Knapp and Alison of New Richmond, Xavier, Isabella, David, Sofia and Ana of Guatemala; blessed great grandchild, James, and one on the way. Also survived by siblings, Donna, Joan (Paul), Tom (Roberta), Jack (Erna), Ron (Loretta), Betty, and Steve (Barb); sisters in law Mary, Janet, and Marge. She will always be remembered by her godchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; mother in law; father in law; brothers, Jerry, Dennis, and Bob, Mark; sister, Anna; sister in law, Elaine; brothers in law, Dick, and John; and her beautiful and amazing daughter, Lori.
Mary was a woman of deep faith and family devotion. Her genuine smile, kindness and sweet demeanor was felt by all and lit up the room. Her love filtered down to the pets in her home and Meelo (kitty) never left her side during these past years.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday June 20, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 9-11 AM at the CHURCH. Please be mindful of Social Distancing while attending the visitation and funeral to ensure a minimum of 6 feet between each person.
