Marla Olsem, age 63 of New Richmond, WI, lost her battle with cancer peacefully at home on Friday, May 22, 2020. Marla was born the daughter of Clarence and Gwendolyn (Lewis) Martin on March 12, 1957 in Lincoln, NE. Clarence was in the Air Force, and the family lived in a number of places before settling in New Richmond in 1968. Marla was married to Patrick Olsem on June 25, 1982 in Hammond, WI. She enjoyed gardening and crafts, spending time outdoors and going to the lake. Marla loved music and spent many years singing and playing keyboard and guitar in a band. She was honest, loving and caring. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gwendolyn Martin. Marla is survived by her husband, Patrick Olsem, Sr.; sons, Brian (Wendy) Olsem, Patrick (Sue) Olsem, Jr.; grandchildren, Stephanie, Julia, Alyssa, and Emily Olsem; sisters, Paula (Wayne) Ausen, Carla Carlstrom, Mary (Chris) Wittstock, Terri Maloney; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

So very sorry to all family of Marla. I had the pleasure of getting to know Marla at the lake. She was such a ray of sunshine and loved to dance. She will be missed.
