Marina Nazare Soares Dacunha Peterson, age 59, died on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in Emerald, WI. She was born on January 18, 1965 to the late Gertrude and Victor Dacunha in Amsterdam, North Holland. Marina grew up in Stillwater graduating from Stillwater High School. She later went on to teach Spanish and was a professor in the greater Twin Cities Area. She was an avid lover of the outdoors and animals, especially cats. Marina was a vibrant soul and enjoyed helping others. She loved to travel the world. Marina is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas Dacunha; sister, Patricia Dacunha; and husband, Jim. She is survived by her niece, Heather Dacunha; and great nephew, Jensen Dacunha. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation services are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
