Lila M. Hilden 07/19/2025

Lila Hilden of River Falls, WI went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 19, 2025. She was 75. Lila was born on May 25, 1950 in Plum City, WI and grew up in Maiden Rock, WI. After high school, she married her sweetheart, Larry Hilden, and lived briefly in Minneapolis and in Hudson, WI before settling in her beloved River Falls. Lila and Larry thrived together for 55 years. They raised sons Aaron and Justin (Autumn) and were thrilled to welcome two granddaughters, Rowan and Rio, who were the light of Lila’s life. Lila was guided by a deep and abiding Christian faith; it was not a blind faith but one that continued to grow and evolve through difficulties and that benefitted from rigorous study and brave practice. She also loved Disney World and enjoyed many trips there with family, from camping and conquering the parks with Aaron and Justin in the early days to seeing familiar sights through the eyes of her growing family to embracing quiet afternoons by the Seven Seas Lagoon marina with Larry. At home, Lila cared particularly for the elderly, was delighted by children, and was an avid crafter. She loved to laugh, and she really let loose around her closest friends and family, including Ron Hague (Jill). Lila will be missed for her generous hugs, welcoming home, and gentle wisdom. She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph Hague and LaVina McKinley and stepfather David McKinley, brother Del Hague, and son Aaron. A funeral service was held Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:00 am at First Covenant Church (1374 N Main St.) in River Falls.  A visitation was held Friday, August 8, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (805 E Division St.) in River Falls and also on Saturday from 10-11 am at the church.  Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.  A luncheon followed services at the church. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Lila was a true friend. She was a member of the “Banner Babes” ..she shared her artistic talents in making church banners, along with four other gals. Larry would always be home waiting for Lila. We will miss this sweet lady.

I got to know Lila working in the kitchen doing Wednesday suppers. She was one of my favorites! She was so sweet and kind and wise. And so much fun! Heaven received another great one.

I remember Lila from grade school. She was always a warm, loving, Christian girl full of fun and laughs. Truly a good friend

My sympathy to Lila’s family. We grew up near each other by Maiden Rock. Lila always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
