Leya Gaynor

Leya Gaynor, age 61, passed away on November 27, 2023, in New Richmond, Wisconsin. She was born on July 27, 1962, to Robert and Veronia Carr in Gary, Indiana. Leya graduated from Orr High School and took classes at the University of Wisconsin Superior.

She loved spending time in nature and with animals, she especially loved her dog, Rosie. Leya also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Everyone will remember her for her blunt, straight forward attitude and wild sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Robert Carr; and husband, Patrick Gaynor.

Leya is survived by: her son, Jon (Michelle) Gaynor; daughters, Emily Gaynor, Rachel (Luke) Bourassa, and Anna (Mike) Thaemert; mother, Veronica “Roni” Carr; brothers, Mike (Kristi) Carr, and Chris (Vonda) Carr; sister, Becca (Rob) Hudson; grandchildren, Claire, Sophia, Elliott, Madilyn, Colin, and Baby Desilu (arriving March 2024). Also survived by nephews and nieces: Canaan, Eden, Milla, Zander, Eleanor, Joe, Presley, as well as her entire Wal-Mart family (too numerous to name).

Celebration of Life will be held from 2-6 PM this Saturday December 2, 2023, at Champs Sports Bar and Grill in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
