Kathleen “Kathy” Yates

Kathleen “Kathy” Yates, age 60, of Somerset, Wisconsin, Kathy died on January 26, 2011 at The Gathering in Stillwater, Minnesota. She was born on March 30, 1950 in St. Paul, MN to Robert and Catherine (Pfeifer) VanderWyst. Kathy was a member of the CMO (Competitive Mounted Orienteering) Group and served on the Board of Directors for Friends of Governor Knowles State Forest. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John VanderWyst and a baby sister. Kathy is survived by her husband, George Yates; son, Scott Yates; daughter, Tammy Yates (Felix Esperanza); brothers, Ken (Jan) VanderWyst, Jerry (Sheila) VanderWyst, Steve (Bev) VanderWyst, Jim (Barb) VanderWyst, Mike (Tonya) VanderWyst; sister, Nancy (John) Geister; sister in law, Sue VanderWyst, also several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service 11 AM Monday January 31, 2011 at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH in New Richmond, Wisconsin. The visitation will be from 4-8 PM Sunday at the CULLEN CREA FUNERAL HOME in New Richmond, Wisconsin and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
