Judith Grant Wilson 01/27/2026

Judith Grant Wilson passed peacefully to the next world on January 27,2026.  Judith Grant Wilson was born at home on the farm in Spring Valley, WI on July 26, 1944 to Bernard and Ioliene (Bjornstad) Grant.  She was baptized into the Catholic Faith at Sacred Heart Parish, Spring Valley, WI.  Her first eight years of schooling were at a one room school with one teacher for all the grades.  In 1962 she graduated from Spring Valley High School.

After High School she traveled to San Francisco and became involved with the Divine Principle being taught by Reverend and Mrs. Moon. Through the church she traveled to many states and countries to share the message to create peace in the troubled world.  She started in North Dakota and that mission led her to the UN, the US Congress and many churches across the country.  She traveled extensively to Europe, China, Japan, Korea and Israel.  In Israel she tried to bring the message of peace and love by going door to door bringing her message.  She felt that she “did her best” in all her travels.

She was married in a large marriage celebration in Madison Square Garden. She was blessed to have a daughter, Kimberly Wilson. Judy found that parental love was the pinnacle of her life and the greatest blessing she ever received.

Judy and Kimberly returned to Wisconsin in 1996.  She began to get deeply involved in family history and heritage of the Bjornstad and Grant families. Her research took her to Ireland, Norway and Canada.  She was from a large family and thoroughly enjoyed all the family functions over the years.  Since her cancer diagnosis in February, 2025 she was able to attend all the family functions while still receiving treatment.

Judy really lived her life for peace.  Her greatest wish was to have a peaceful world.  Judy was preceded in death by many Bjornstad and Grant relatives, including, her parents, Bernard & Ioliene Grant, brother Mark Grant and brother-in-law David Bibeau. She is survived by her greatest blessing, her daughter Kimberly Wilson and her husband Joshua Troemner. Other family includes her sisters Beverly Bibeau, Mary (Charles) Woiwode, and brothers B.J. (Barb) Grant, James Grant and Barry (Pam) Grant, along with many nieces and nephews.

Thank you to St. Croix Health & Rehab for the wonderful care she received.   Special thanks to Judy’s good friends who shared her journey with her.

Rather than memorials, the family would like you to make a donation to your favorite charity or church of your choosing.  Please continue to pray for peace in our world.

A visitation was held on  Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 11:00 am- 2:00 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (805 E Division St.) in River Falls.  Private interment will be at St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

She was cherished by the ladies she cared for at REM. God has a very special angel!! Thank you to God for allowing me to be blessed with her presence in my life!!! Because it was impactful even in the short time I knew her!! RIP beautiful soul!!

Judy was such a caring and sincere sister! she could spot falseness in an instant! She also had a great sense of humor. we drove with her and her friend Shar, to more than one Legal Shield convention, and we laughed almost the whole way! We have many fond memories of Judy, and are happy our paths could cross in this life! God speed , Judy ,on this final journey of yours!!

So sorry for the loss of such a genuine and beautiful person. She shared wonderful bouquets of flowers so many times with us at Valley Villas when her mother was there. Her kindness was always evident. Sending hugs to all of her family.

Deepest sympathy Kimberly and family. I have great memories of growing up with Judy, at our family reunions, school functions and just meeting randomly. always a good visit and always a smile. Special thoughts and prayers, Judy will be missed by many.

While Judy, my 1st cousin, and I were 17 years apart we were kindred spirits starting at ages 36 and 19, respectively.

Judy’s insight, intelligence and warmth inspired me to remain curious and thoughtful about global issues, grateful for the many blessings I’ve received and faithful about what is yet to come.

Life is not a spectator sport. By putting a little skin in the game on things that really matter to you, you experience living vs merely existing.

I will miss Judy’s infectious personality and the spark of hope she brought to all she touched.

I’m so grateful for Judy and for the lessons she taught me. She is a deep-hearted woman, a person of character and high ideals. She lived her life for the sake of peace and I know that she will still be working on that cause from Heaven.

Having Judith as our Alpha Omicron Pi house mom was truly so amazing! She was like having a second mom! She always knew how to make us girls laugh, especially at our Pie and Aoii event! My favorite memory is doing the Christmas tree in the house each year with her, and listening to her life stories, she always had so much to share. She will truly be missed and it was a blessing to have known her! <3

I had the pleasure of meeting Judith a few years ago when I joined the sorority Alpha Omicron Pi at the University of Minnesota. My favorite memory is every morning Judith and I would cross paths when I was heading to class and she was reading and eating breakfast. Every morning she would tell me to have a great day and it just meant so much to me to have someone looking after me while I was away from home. Judith made the house a home.

When I was in AOII, I had the pleasure of getting to eat dinner with Judith on Monday nights. She always shared such wonderful stories from her life, and I loved when she would bring a picture to show me that she discovered while researching. She’s left a lasting impact on me to aspire to be a lifelong learner!! She will be greatly missed in this world, and I’m sending thoughts to her family!

I had the pleasure of living in the sorority house with Judith for 2021-2023. She was a lovely woman, and I know we all loved hearing her stories of her extensive travels. She always went the extra mile and made sure we had beautiful flowers on the tables at our formal dinners, and she is a big reason the house felt like a home for so many of us! I was so sorry to hear about her passing, and hope that her family and friends can find comfort in her memories.
