John William Stephens, age 87, of New Richmond, Wisconsin passed away on September 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at the St. Croix Health Center. He was born May 13, 1929 to Alexander and Mabel (Rosensteil) Stephens. John served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, and was the proud owner of Stephens Sanitation for over 30 years. Inseparable for 63 years, John and Ramona enjoyed traveling and time spent with family. John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Aldy, Donald, Ed, and Jim (Helen); brother-in-law Curt Waalen. Survived by his loving wife, Ramona (Welch) Stephens; his beloved dog, Ozzy; children, Mark (Lori) Stephens, Jeffrey (Amy) Stephens, and Lori (John) Schmelter; grandchildren, Chris (Catharine Shay) Stephens, Jolene (Peter) Henzler, Andrew (Bethany) Stephens, A.J. (Caroline) Stephens, Nikolai Stephens, Sam Stephens, Jarek Schmelter, Maddi (Jack) Taylor; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Mabel Waalen; sisters-in-law June and Bette; and many other family and friends.

Funeral will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday September 28, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
